Meet Baiba

How did painting come into picture?

Hi, My name is Baiba and most people know me as a recruiter because I spent 16 years in corporate talent acquisition, from hands on recruitment to leading teams across US and Europe. Work and professional advancement has been a major focus area of my life and part of who I was. 

Then I got laid off.

I faced many unrequited job applications and I started questioning my next steps, my career, and my own worth as finding the next better position had always been easy.

I love design, visual and sensory things, but there was never enough time or energy to devote much time to it as work, family, and life always took priority. I also questioned if I was good enough to turn it into full time.  

Being downsized and struggling to find a new job was a trying time and led me to doubting the value of my experience and self-esteem. But I’ve always believed there has to be a way to create work and life you want and after doing more extensive reflection, I realized that I’ve always been  resourceful and found a way to make it work. From coming to US from Eastern Europe when I was 19, to building a life I'm proud of, I knew there has to be a solution! During this time of intense soul searching, I started painting some rooms and found beauty of a new paint job to be a wonderful way to bring joy into people’s everyday lives.

So here we go!

After many conversations, emotions, and deliberations, I decided to start Wake Forest Painting Company! I’ve always had the dream of entrepreneurship in me, and I decided that fear comes to all of us. It also dawned on me how scared it can make you feel but also how boring it is!

My wish is to bring you joy and happy memories through transforming your day to day spaces. I love seeing you smile and being so happy about the end result and your home looking gorgeous and brand new again!
